EMIRATES AIRLINE FOUNDATION AND EMIRATES AUCTION RAISE AED 8.8 MILLION TO SUPPORT CHILDREN IN SOUTH AFRICA AND WORLDWIDE

The auction ran from 17 December 2025 to 17 January 2026 and attracted more than 900 bids from participants across 131 countries. Seven rare Skywards Platinum membership numbers were offered globally, with the highest single bid reaching AED 1.6 million. Two bidders secured 20-year Platinum memberships, while five secured 15-year memberships.

Humanitarian impact and programme expansion

Funds raised will support the launch of new projects and expand support for existing programmes delivered in collaboration with 14 NGOs across nine countries, including South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

In South Africa, the Foundation works with Singakwenza Education and Health, supporting 1,000 children in early childhood education, and the Fikelela Children’s Centre, assisting 40 children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline and Chairman of the Emirates Airline Foundation, said the initiative aimed to explore new ways to expand the Foundation’s humanitarian impact. He noted that the response reflected strong global engagement and would enable the Foundation to strengthen existing programmes and reach additional communities.

Auction initiative to become annual programme

Following the outcome of the initiative, the Emirates Airline Foundation and Emirates Auction confirmed plans to continue hosting annual auction events. The organisations said the initiative will provide a recurring opportunity for global supporters to contribute to the Foundation’s humanitarian work.

Abdullah Matar Al Mannai, Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, said the results demonstrated the impact of collaboration between organisations with shared humanitarian objectives. He added that the partnership will continue to focus on delivering measurable social impact through future initiatives.

The Emirates Airline Foundation operates as Emirates’ official charitable arm, providing support including housing, healthcare, nutrition, education and vocational assistance for vulnerable children. The Foundation has completed more than 50 projects and is funded primarily through contributions from Emirates customers and employees.
