TRINASOLAR SUPPLIES VERTEX N MODULES FOR ROOFTOP SOLAR INSTALLATION AT MALAYSIAN AIRPORT

Trinasolar has supplied 530 Vertex N 710W solar modules for a 376 kW rooftop solar installation at ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia’s aircraft maintenance facility at Subang Airport. The installation is designed to support on-site energy generation while meeting regulatory and operational safety requirements applicable to airport environments.

The Vertex N modules installed at the facility incorporate anti-glare coating technology to prevent reflected light from affecting flight operations. The coating also supports improved sunlight absorption to maximise power generation.

Airport infrastructure and installation environment

ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia operates the country’s largest business aviation maintenance facility. The Subang Airport site covers 149,500 square feet, with approximately 110,000 square feet of rooftop space allocated for solar deployment.

The modules were selected to maximise energy generation within the available rooftop footprint. The Vertex N modules use n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, designed to deliver higher power output and efficiency.

Module design and operational performance

The dual-glass module design is engineered to operate in harsh environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and exposure to salt, ammonia and sand. The modules also feature a low-voltage design and high string power configuration, intended to reduce balance-of-system costs and support installation in restricted airport zones.

Elva Wang, Group Director of South, Southeast and Central Asia at Trina Solar, said airports present highly regulated and safety-sensitive environments. She stated that the Vertex N modules support engineering, procurement and construction providers, developers and operators in delivering high-output systems within constrained spaces while meeting technical and operational requirements.

Trinasolar has previously completed airport rooftop solar installations globally, including projects in China, Australia and India.

Founded in 1997, Trinasolar develops photovoltaic products, energy storage and smart energy solutions, including PV project development, EPC and operations and maintenance services, micro-grid systems and energy cloud platforms. The company launched its Energy IoT brand in 2018 and listed on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2020.
