EUROAIRLINES GROUP AND AIR SIERRA LEONE INK STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO BOOST AFRICAN AIR CONNECTIVITY

Madrid, 14 July 2025 – In a significant move aimed at strengthening air links across Africa, Euroairlines Group has signed a strategic distribution and operational agreement with Air Sierra Leone, the national flag carrier of Sierra Leone. The alliance is expected to open up global markets for the West African airline and reinforce Euroairlines’ footprint across the continent.

The partnership allows Air Sierra Leone to plug into Euroairlines’ expansive international distribution network—powered by IATA code Q4-291—enabling immediate visibility in over 60 countries. It is a major step forward for the young airline, founded in 2024, which operates out of Freetown and is pursuing a growth strategy focused on point-to-point, passenger-centric air services.

“This agreement reflects our long-term commitment to Africa and to empowering new airlines with strong development potential,” said Antonio López Lázaro, CEO of Euroairlines Group. “We’re thrilled to support Air Sierra Leone’s global expansion and help amplify its presence in key international markets.”

In addition to GDS access, the agreement includes comprehensive distribution services, third-party connectivity, and operational support through Euroairlines’ integrated platform—specifically tailored for emerging carriers looking to scale without compromising business identity or flexibility.

“This partnership opens doors we couldn’t reach before,” said Emmanuel Iza, CEO of Air Sierra Leone. “With Euroairlines, we’re better positioned to become a vital player in regional and international air travel, offering a direct and agile solution to Africa’s growing demand for connectivity.”

A highlight of this collaboration is the recent launch of Air Sierra Leone’s regular service between Freetown and London Gatwick—its first direct intercontinental route. The new service is already active in GDS platforms, giving UK-based travel agents access to book the airline’s expanding network.

For Euroairlines, the deal underscores its growing role as a key distribution enabler for start-up and regional airlines across Latin America, Europe, and now Africa. With operational hubs across the Americas and Europe, the Madrid-based group continues to broaden its strategic partnerships with a firm eye on underserved and high-potential markets.
