FL TECHNICS HIGHLIGHTS CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN AVIATION

FL Technics highlights career development opportunities in aviation through the professional journey of Deputy Head of Unit Aleksandra Mesceriakova, who progressed from assistant to leadership roles over 15 years.

Employee success story underscores the value of continuous learning and diverse career pathways within the aviation industry

FROM ASSISTANT TO LEADERSHIP ROLE

FL Technics has highlighted the career journey of Deputy Head of Unit Aleksandra Mesceriakova as an example of how curiosity, continuous learning and professional development can create opportunities within the aviation sector.

Mesceriakova joined the company 15 years ago with limited aviation knowledge after applying for an assistant position. Over time, she progressed through a series of roles including Technical Assistant, Customer Support Manager, Sales Manager, Key Account Manager and Senior Sales Manager before moving into a leadership position.

According to Mesceriakova, a willingness to learn and support from colleagues played a significant role in her professional development.

LEARNING IN A COMPLEX INDUSTRY

The aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector is highly specialised and governed by extensive regulations and procedures. Mesceriakova described one of her initial challenges as understanding technical manuals, industry terminology and structured operational processes.

Despite spending more than a decade in the sector, she noted that aviation continues to provide new learning opportunities and professional challenges.

The experience, she said, reinforced the importance of continuous development and teamwork throughout a career.

BUILDING CULTURE THROUGH COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

Beyond her operational responsibilities, Mesceriakova has been involved in several social initiatives within FL Technics.

One of the company’s long-running projects focuses on fulfilling wishes for children facing difficult circumstances. What began as a small team initiative has expanded across FL Technics operations in Lithuania, with employees contributing through fundraising, gift purchasing and delivery activities. The programme has fulfilled 57 children’s wishes in recent years.

She has also helped establish an initiative that collects refunds from recycled deposit bottles and cans, with proceeds donated to animal shelters.

AVIATION OFFERS DIVERSE CAREER PATHS

Mesceriakova challenged the perception that aviation is only suited to highly technical professions, noting that modern aviation organisations employ specialists across a broad range of disciplines.

She pointed out that aviation companies require expertise in areas including engineering, maintenance, information technology, finance, sales, procurement, legal services and marketing.

According to FL Technics, this diversity creates opportunities for individuals from a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds to enter the industry.

GLOBAL WORKFORCE AND INDUSTRY REACH

FL Technics said its workforce represents more than 100 nationalities and cultures, reflecting the international nature of the aviation sector and the importance of diverse teams in supporting customers and partners worldwide.

The company is a global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, offering base and line maintenance, engineering, component support, technical training and aerospace logistics solutions. It operates facilities in Lithuania, Indonesia, the Middle East and the United Kingdom, with line stations worldwide.
