EMBRAER WELCOMES GLOBAL AVIATION LEADERS TO RIO

Embraer has carried out a special projection onto the Christ the Redeemer monument in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the 82nd Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA AGM), taking place from 6 to 8 June 2026.

The initiative, staged at one of Brazil’s most recognised landmarks, was designed to mark the opening of the aviation industry’s largest annual leadership gathering, which brings together senior executives and decision-makers from across the global air transport sector.

From its position atop Corcovado Hill overlooking Rio de Janeiro, the projection highlighted themes of innovation, efficiency, safety and sustainability in aviation.

Francisco Gomes Neto, Chief Executive Officer of Embraer, said the initiative reflected the importance of air transport to economic development, social connectivity and global integration.

“Air transport is one of the pillars of the modern world, with a direct impact on the economy, society, and global integration. Carrying out this projection on one of the Seven Wonders of the World, which embodies Brazil’s identity, hospitality, and international image, is a source of great pride,” he said.

FOCUS ON E2 AIRCRAFT EFFICIENCY

The projection featured imagery highlighting technologies supporting aviation sustainability initiatives.

Embraer said its E2 family of commercial aircraft was showcased as the most efficient aircraft in its category, combining operational performance with reductions in carbon emissions and noise levels. The manufacturer noted that the aircraft are already supporting fleet renewal programmes at Brazilian carrier Azul and are expected to enter service with LATAM in the future.

The company said the initiative also served as an opportunity to encourage discussion among aviation leaders about the future of air transport and the industry’s role in economic development, tourism and international connectivity.

SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Part of Embraer’s investment in the projection initiative will support the Centro de Capacitação Profissional Nossa Senhora da Gratidão, a professional training centre operated by Obra Social Leste Um – O Sol and affiliated with the Sustainable Christ Consortium.

The centre focuses on professional development and entrepreneurship opportunities for women facing social vulnerability. Through training programmes, workshops and educational activities, participants receive support aimed at improving employability, developing skills and creating new economic opportunities.

SUSTAINABLE CHRIST CONSORTIUM

The Sustainable Christ Consortium is a partnership between the Archdiocesan Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer, Obra Social Leste Um – O Sol and Instituto Redemptor.

The consortium coordinates environmental, social and economic sustainability projects through three core pillars: Citizenship, Entrepreneurship & Employability, and Environmental initiatives.

According to the consortium, more than 45,000 services were delivered during 2025 through social assistance, professional training, entrepreneurship support and environmental programmes.
