Saudi LCC Moves to Enhance Passenger Comfort Across Expanding Fleet.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier, flynas, has signed an agreement with Safran Seats to equip its next 60 A320neo aircraft with the latest generation of passenger and crew seating. The announcement was made during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, where flynas CEO Bander Almohanna and Safran Seats France EVP Quentin Munier formalised the partnership.
Set for delivery from the second half of 2025, the new seating package will cover 174 seats per aircraft, including economy class and a premium cabin section configured to offer enhanced space and comfort. For flynas, which operates A320neo aircraft on routes of up to six hours, the investment marks a significant step in raising the comfort benchmark in low-cost travel.
The new seats will feature smart cushion designs and advanced technologies aimed at improving passenger convenience. Economy class seats will include holders for personal electronic devices, power supply ports with USB A and C outputs (60w), lower-mounted literature pockets, coat hooks, and cup holders. The four rows of premium class seating will offer wider pitch, adjustable headrests, and a middle seat blocker to create more personal space — attributes designed to appeal to passengers seeking a higher level of comfort on regional and medium-haul services.
Commenting on the agreement, Almohanna said: “Through our strategic partnership with Safran, we are poised to reimagine our future cabins with smart design, stylish features, and next-level technologies. These factors were instrumental in selecting seat types, which will be customized for flynas to offer our guests a unique way of enjoying their flights.”
He added that the partnership aligns with the carrier’s expansion goals in support of Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom to 250 international destinations, handle 330 million passengers annually, and host 100 million tourists by 2030. The initiative also supports the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program to ease access to the Two Holy Mosques.
Safran’s Munier highlighted the milestone as the first collaboration between the two companies, stating: “We are honored to equip flynas’ new Airbus A320neo fleet with our latest Z200, a new generation of Economy class seats that deliver benefits for both passengers and operators. We are delighted to support its operations in the coming years.”
Ranked the best low-cost carrier in the Middle East and fourth worldwide by Skytrax, flynas continues its efforts to become the world’s leading LCC. The cabin upgrade is positioned as part of a broader drive to enhance the passenger experience while expanding its operational reach.
