AIR FRANCE ELEVATES IN-FLIGHT EXPERIENCE WITH LAUNCH OF CANAL+ ENTERTAINMENT ON LONG-HAUL ROUTES

New Partnership Highlights French Creativity and Expands Passenger Choice.

Air France is set to enhance its in-flight entertainment offering with the launch of a new partnership with CANAL+, bringing a wide selection of premium French programming to passengers on all long-haul flights starting 1 May 2025.

Under the agreement, travellers will gain exclusive access to CANAL+ Création Originale series, flagship shows, comedy specials, documentaries, and children’s programming—adding further depth to Air France’s extensive line-up of over 1,500 hours of entertainment.

“Renowned throughout the world for their creativity, I’m sure they will appeal to our customers and promote French culture,” said Fabien Pelous, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Air France. “They also enable us to offer more up-to-date content on board our flights.”

Passengers will soon be able to enjoy acclaimed CANAL+ series such as The Embers, Of Money and Blood, and Versailles, alongside popular talk shows like En Aparté and comedy performances from rising stars including Laura Felpin and Roman Frayssinet. Travel and sports documentaries, as well as dedicated children’s shows, round out the content library. From June 2025, the collection will also feature select programming from CANAL+ Africa, including the series Niabla and documentary series Enquête d’Afrique.

At launch, around 100 CANAL+ programmes will be available, refreshed monthly with 20 new titles. Content will be offered in French with subtitles and adaptations for the deaf and hard of hearing, ensuring broad accessibility.

Christophe Pinard-Legry, CEO of CANAL+ France, welcomed the collaboration, noting: “We are delighted with this unique partnership, which will enable Air France passengers to enjoy an exclusive entertainment experience. It reinforces our commitment to promoting French, and soon African, audiovisual creation throughout the world.”

The initiative reflects Air France’s broader strategy of showcasing French savoir-faire. Currently, 30% of the airline’s entertainment selection is devoted to French productions, a commitment further strengthened by this latest move.

On board, passengers in all cabins can access high-definition screens offering an array of films—over 310 titles spanning global cinema, recent releases, and French classics—as well as series, podcasts, wellness content, and even interactive features like in-seat flight path tracking and camera views during take-off and landing. The latest cabins also feature 4K anti-glare screens with Bluetooth connectivity and an intuitive, multilingual interface to simplify content browsing.

As Air France continues to refine its service offer, the CANAL+ partnership positions the carrier to deliver an even richer, culturally vibrant entertainment experience for its long-haul customers.
