Airline backs 20th anniversary celebrations with auction and travel sponsorships.
NANYUKI, KENYA — Kenya Airways (KQ) has stepped into the conservation arena with a new partnership announced this week with Ol Pejeta Conservancy, marking a fresh chapter of collaboration between aviation and environmental stewardship. The agreement forms part of Ol Pejeta’s OPC@20 celebrations, commemorating two decades of conservation, community development, and sustainable tourism.
Under the terms of the partnership, Kenya Airways will lend its support to a Silent Digital Auction scheduled for September 2025. Proceeds from the auction will go directly towards Ol Pejeta’s ongoing conservation initiatives, helping protect one of Kenya’s most vital wildlife habitats.
As part of its contribution, Kenya Airways is offering two sets of return tickets to global destinations—New York (JFK), London Gatwick, or London Heathrow—giving auction participants the chance to win world-class travel while supporting an important cause. Additional prizes include domestic return tickets between Nairobi and Mombasa, and an international ticket from Nairobi to London Gatwick, which will be awarded during the prestigious OPC@20 Golf Tournament. Set for 31 May 2025 at Nanyuki Sports Club, the tournament promises to unite conservation advocates, corporate supporters, and sporting enthusiasts in an event that champions both sport and sustainability.
“This partnership with Kenya Airways is more than a strategic alignment—it’s a celebration of shared values,” said Ken Kimani, Chief Commercial Officer at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, during the launch event. “As we mark 20 years of conservation, we are proud to join forces with KQ, a brand that is globally recognised yet uniquely Kenyan.”
Martin Gitonga, General Manager for Digital Brand and Marketing at Kenya Airways, echoed the sentiment: “Kenya Airways is honoured to partner with Ol Pejeta Conservancy during this milestone year. As a proud ambassador of Kenya’s natural and cultural heritage, we recognise the importance of sustainable tourism and biodiversity protection. Our contribution to the OPC@20 initiatives reflects our broader commitment to corporate responsibility, and we are happy to help amplify the vital work Ol Pejeta continues to do.”
Beyond sponsorship, Kenya Airways will also extend discounted travel to Ol Pejeta staff, further deepening the practical benefits of the alliance. This new partnership also complements KQ’s recent tie-up with Safarilink, allowing passengers to seamlessly book travel from any point worldwide directly to Kenya’s premier safari destinations, including Maasai Mara and Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Nanyuki.
