KUWAIT AIRWAYS WELCOMES FIRST AIRBUS A321NEO IN FLEET RENEWAL DRIVE

Toulouse, 14 May 2025 — Airbus has handed over the first A321neo to Kuwait Airways, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s strategic transformation plan aimed at modernising its fleet and expanding its operational capabilities. The delivery is the first of nine A321neo aircraft ordered by the national carrier of the State of Kuwait.

Configured with 166 seats across two classes, the new aircraft offers 16 full-flat business class seats and 150 economy class seats, setting a new standard of comfort for the airline’s narrowbody operations. The aircraft also features Airbus’ award-winning Airspace cabin, designed to deliver a quieter and more relaxing atmosphere. Enhanced mood lighting, advanced in-flight entertainment, and high-speed connectivity underscore Kuwait Airways’ commitment to elevating the passenger experience.

The A321neo joins Kuwait Airways’ growing fleet of Airbus aircraft, which currently includes nine A320neo and six A330neo jets. With its extended range and capacity, the A321neo is well suited for regional and medium-haul routes — including high-demand seasonal services to South Asian and European destinations.

Airbus’ next-generation narrowbody not only brings operational flexibility and fuel efficiency to Kuwait Airways but also supports the airline’s sustainability objectives. The A321neo is certified to fly with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), aligning with Airbus’ broader ambition to reach 100% SAF capability across its aircraft portfolio by 2030.

The delivery underscores Airbus’ continued success with the A321neo, now surpassing 7,000 orders from more than 95 customers worldwide. As airlines modernise their fleets to meet regulatory, environmental, and customer demands, the A321neo remains a key solution for efficient, lower-emission air travel.
