LOCKHEED MARTIN WELCOMES EGYPT TO THE C-130J SUPER HERCULES FLEET

At the Egypt International Air Show, Lockheed Martin announced that it will deliver two C-130J-30 Super Hercules tactical airlifters to the Egyptian Air Force (EAF) through a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) facilitated by the U.S. Air Force. Egypt becomes the 23rd country to join the global Super Hercules fleet.

The C-130J-30, an extended version of the legendary Super Hercules, is recognized as the most advanced tactical airlifter worldwide. With its robust capabilities and versatility, the aircraft will provide the Egyptian Air Force with enhanced power, enabling it to support a variety of missions, from military operations and peacekeeping efforts to humanitarian aid and disaster relief.

Rod McLean, Vice President and General Manager of Lockheed Martin’s Air Mobility & Maritime Missions division, praised Egypt’s long-standing role as a C-130 operator. “Welcoming Egypt to the C-130J Super Hercules global fleet is an honor that truly represents the longstanding partnership between our two nations and with Lockheed Martin. With these new C-130J-30s, the Egyptian Air Force’s tactical airlift presence will deliver unmatched capabilities and aligned force amplification to serve Egypt, North Africa, and the world,” McLean said.

Egypt is a leading operator of the C-130H model, with a fleet that has proven indispensable in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The country now joins seven other MENA nations that have opted for the C-130J to strengthen their airlift and tanker capabilities.

Lockheed Martin has delivered over 545 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft globally, with the fleet having logged over 3 million flight hours. Renowned for its operational readiness, ease of transition, superior tactical airlift, and combat airdrop capabilities, the C-130J offers unmatched interoperability with NATO and other global partners.
