LUMINAIR WELCOMES FALCON 900LX AS FLEET EXPANSION GAINS MOMENTUM

German business jet operator LUMINAIR has marked a major milestone with the delivery of its first Falcon 900LX, the first of three aircraft ordered last year. The official handover ceremony took place at Dassault Aviation’s Paris-Le Bourget facility, where executives from both companies gathered to celebrate the occasion.

The newly delivered aircraft, registered D-AJES, features a contemporary and elegant cabin designed to provide exceptional comfort on long-range flights. It joins LUMINAIR’s growing fleet as part of a rapid expansion strategy that has established the Hamburg-based operator as one of Europe’s fastest-growing private aviation providers.

Company co-founder Algernon Trotter underscored the significance of the acquisition:

“With the acquisition of these aircraft, LUMINAIR will have the youngest and most modern fleet of Falcon 900LX aircraft in the world. We are sure that with our 100% dedicated floating-fleet charter model and our unwavering commitment to our clients on service and reliability, these aircraft will become a mainstay of Europe’s heavy jet market.”

The Falcon 900LX has been selected as the flagship of LUMINAIR’s long-range fleet. The aircraft combines efficiency, strong operating economics and enhanced passenger appeal, with features such as advanced avionics, improved soundproofing and high-speed KA-band connectivity. The operator confirmed that connectivity will be included in every charter quotation.

Julia Müller, LUMINAIR’s Chief Experience Officer, highlighted the aircraft’s passenger-friendly qualities following the delivery flight:

“I was struck by how exceptionally quiet the cabin is. The spacious, refined interior and smooth flight characteristics will resonate with clients. Our experienced cabin team has invested months in fine-tuning onboard service that will be sure to win over passengers and brokers.”

The delivery comes on the heels of another Falcon 900LX recently joining the fleet, with two more scheduled by year’s end. These additions will strengthen LUMINAIR’s presence in the heavy jet segment, complementing its existing Citation XLS+ fleet.

In its first year of operations, the company achieved 1,300 flight hours across 192 destinations, driven by a high-utilisation model that prioritises service and operational reliability. CEO David Bergold noted:

“This is a system we developed and refined over more than a decade of experience. We provide our clients with a reliable, customer-focused and operationally robust experience. Our aircraft lessors receive a strong return on investment on asset purchases. We are delighted to bring these superb aircraft to market to diversify our portfolio and cement our position as Europe’s most dynamic business jet operation.”

Founded by industry veterans David Bergold (CEO), Alexander Stevens (COO), Julia Müller (CXO), and Algernon Trotter, LUMINAIR is committed to charter operations and continues to expand rapidly. By the end of 2025, the company will operate five Cessna Citation XLS+ aircraft alongside four Falcon 900LXs.
