Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, has marked a milestone in its fleet modernisation strategy with the delivery of its first Airbus A330neo. The A330-900 aircraft, leased from Avolon, is the first of 20 scheduled to join MAG’s fleet. This addition reaffirms the airline’s commitment to enhancing fuel efficiency and passenger experience while maintaining its competitive edge in the global aviation market.
Configured with a premium two-class layout, the new A330neo boasts 28 fully-flat Business Class suites and an Economy cabin designed to accommodate 269 passengers. The aircraft offers state-of-the-art amenities, including larger overhead storage, enhanced air quality, high-speed Wi-Fi, and the latest in-flight entertainment systems, ensuring an elevated travel experience for passengers.
The A330neo will serve MAG’s routes across Asia and the Pacific, with plans to deploy it on select routes to the Middle East, underscoring the airline’s focus on high-demand markets. As the 20th global operator of the A330neo, MAG joins a growing list of airlines capitalising on the aircraft’s industry-leading fuel efficiency and performance. To date, Airbus has delivered over 140 A330neo aircraft to operators worldwide, reinforcing the model’s position as a leader in its class.
