OVER 100 COMPANIES TO BE HONOURED FOR SAFETY AT NBAA-BACE; TWO CELEBRATE 90 YEARS OF ACCIDENT-FREE FLYING

Washington, DC — The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced the 2025 recipients of its prestigious Flying Safety Awards, recognising more than 100 companies, flight departments, and hundreds of aviation professionals for accident-free operations through the end of 2024.

The awards will be presented during the National Safety Forum at the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), scheduled for October 14–16 in Las Vegas. Highlighting the industry’s commitment to operational safety, the awards underscore the professionalism and strong safety culture that define business aviation.

 

“In a year when aviation safety has been under a microscope, NBAA-BACE will put business aviation’s leadership in operational safety at centre stage,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “The presentation of our Flying Safety Awards, combined with dedicated safety-focused events and exhibits showcasing the latest technologies, emphasises the critical role safety plays in our industry.”

 

Among the honourees, Lane Aviation Corp. and Occidental Petroleum Corp. stand out with 90-year accident-free records, while Becton Dickenson (BD) Aviation and CSX Aviation mark 75 years of safe operations. Other milestone recipients include McKee Foods Transportation LLC (60 years) and Emerson Flight Operations and Wilson Trailer Co. (50 years).

 

NBAA also recognised members in specialised safety categories, including:

  • Commercial Business Flying: 11 companies; 582,972 cumulative hours
  • Corporate Business Flying: 101 companies; 5,214,141 cumulative hours
  • Maintenance Department Safety: 57 companies
  • Pilot Safety: 284 pilots; 726,773 cumulative hours
  • Scheduler/Licensed Dispatcher Safety: 63 recipients
  • Support Services Safety: 214 recipients
  • Avionics/Maintenance Technician Safety: 164 recipients

Launched in 1953, the Flying Safety Awards programme reflects NBAA’s long-standing dedication to enhancing safety across business aviation operations. The association provides extensive resources to support a culture of safety, including guidance materials, safety management system resources, and national and regional events.
