H55’S B23 ENERGIC TO PERFORM FLYBYS AT THE ROLEX SWITZERLAND SAIL GRAND PRIX

Geneva, Switzerland – 19 September 2025 – Two pioneering Swiss entities are set to showcase the future of sustainable mobility at the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix in Geneva this weekend, 20–21 September. The Switzerland SailGP Team, led by three-time Olympian Sébastien Schneiter, and electric aviation innovator H55, co-founded by André Borschberg, will unite for an aerial and on-water demonstration of performance and innovation.

Spectators in the SailGP Race Village, along with worldwide television and online audiences, will witness daily flybys of H55’s fully electric B23 Energic over Lake Geneva before racing begins. The flights are scheduled between 15:10 and 15:20, just ahead of SailGP races starting at 15:30.

At the controls of the B23 Energic will be H55 co-founder André Borschberg, best known for his record-breaking Solar Impulse flights, including the longest solo flight in aviation history — a five-day, five-night journey from Japan to Hawaii in 2015.

This will be the first-ever SailGP event in Switzerland, featuring 12 international teams competing in high-speed, adrenaline-fuelled races. While elite sailors “fly” across the water, H55’s electric aircraft will take to the skies, symbolising a shared mission to push boundaries in both performance and sustainability.

Borschberg emphasised the shared values: “SailGP and H55 share the same vision: proving that high performance and sustainability can go hand in hand. The B23 Energic will be delivered to flight schools next year to train future pilots worldwide — a concrete step toward making clean aviation a reality. Flying over Lac Léman alongside SailGP is not only symbolic, it shows how innovation across disciplines can accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.”

Schneiter highlighted Switzerland’s leadership: “Having H55 and the B23 Energic with us in Geneva is a perfect example of how Switzerland unites performance, innovation, and sustainability. Just as SailGP pushes sailing to new limits, H55 is bringing its electric trainer to market, giving flight schools a certified solution for the future of pilot training. Together, we’re showing that Swiss technology can inspire the world toward cleaner mobility.”

By bringing together world-class sailing and pioneering electric aviation, the collaboration underscores Switzerland’s role in advancing clean technologies and inspiring industries, governments, and the public toward sustainable mobility.
