LONG-RANGE DELIVERY TO SOUTH AMERICA
Tecnam confirmed that the Tecnam P2012 Traveller departed Capua, Italy on 18 March and arrived in Santiago, Chile on 2 April after completing an 11,000-nautical-mile journey.
The ferry route included multiple technical stops across Europe and the Americas, including Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, the United States, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
EXPANSION OF PATAGONIA OPERATIONS
The aircraft has been delivered to DAP Group and will support operations across Chilean Patagonia, including routes serving Porvenir in Tierra del Fuego.
Configured to carry up to nine passengers, the P2012 Traveller is equipped with:
- Full IFR capability
- Advanced avionics
- Anti-icing systems
- Aerodynamic stability suited to challenging weather conditions
These features are aligned with the demanding operational environment of southern Chile.
HANDOVER DURING FIDAE AIRSHOW
The official handover took place in Santiago during the FIDAE Airshow, held from 7 to 12 April.
The ceremony was attended by representatives including the Chilean Air Force Chief of Staff, reflecting the aircraft’s role within the region’s aviation ecosystem.
REGIONAL SUPPORT NETWORK
The delivery is supported by Aerotec, which provides operational and maintenance support across Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
Aerotec’s regional presence supports a growing fleet of Tecnam aircraft operating across South America, particularly in specialised and remote mission environments.
OPERATIONAL CONTEXT
The P2012 Traveller is positioned within the light twin segment as a utility aircraft capable of operating in remote and infrastructure-limited environments.
Its deployment in Patagonia reflects ongoing demand for aircraft capable of maintaining connectivity across geographically challenging regions, where reliability and operational flexibility are critical.
OUTLOOK
The addition of the P2012 Traveller to the DAP fleet supports continued investment in regional connectivity across southern Chile.
As operators expand into demanding operational environments, aircraft such as the P2012 continue to play a role in linking remote communities while maintaining consistent service standards.
