TRUENOORD COMPLETES SALE OF TWO EMBRAER E190 AIRCRAFT TO AIRLINK

TrueNoord has completed the sale of two Embraer E190 aircraft to Airlink, supporting fleet resilience through flexible asset solutions amid ongoing global supply chain challenges.

Specialist regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has completed the sale of two Embraer E190 aircraft to Airlink, further strengthening its long-standing relationship with the African operator and underscoring its ability to deliver flexible asset solutions in a challenging market environment.

The aircraft were delivered to Airlink in December 2025. Airlink operates the largest fleet of Embraer aircraft on the African continent, and the transaction supports the airline’s efforts to enhance fleet resilience amid ongoing global supply chain constraints.

In the near term, Airlink intends to salvage parts from the E190 airframes and retain the engines as spares, while also evaluating options for potential future operation of the aircraft.

“This transaction underscores TrueNoord’s commitment to supporting operators with flexible solutions that address today’s operational challenges,” said Maarten Grift, Sales Director at TrueNoord. He added that close collaboration with Airlink’s experienced team enabled the lessor to help strengthen the airline’s fleet reliability despite dynamic market conditions.

Airlink Chief Executive Officer de Villiers Engelbrecht described the acquisition as a strategic move to safeguard the reliability of the carrier’s Embraer fleet. By securing additional engines and components, Airlink aims to mitigate the impact of supply chain disruptions while maintaining service standards for its customers.

Richard Jacobs, Chief Commercial Officer of TrueNoord, highlighted the efficiency of the transaction and the strength of the partnership between the two companies. He noted that the sale was completed in a timely and streamlined manner through close collaboration, and thanked the aircraft’s previous lessee, Breeze, for its support during the process.

TrueNoord continues to focus on providing tailored leasing, financing and asset management solutions for regional aircraft in the 50- to 150-seat segment. The lessor currently owns a fleet of more than 100 aircraft, including turboprops, regional jets and crossover types, leased to more than 30 operators across 24 countries.
