TRUENOORD EXPANDS PORTFOLIO WITH LEASE OF TWO ATR 72-600 AIRCRAFT TO FLY91

TrueNoord expands its India presence by leasing two ATR 72-600 aircraft to FLY91, supporting regional connectivity and fleet growth across Tier 2 and Tier 3 city markets.

Amsterdam/Dublin/London/Singapore/Goa, February 2026 — Regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has expanded its presence in India through the delivery of two ATR 72-600 aircraft on long-term operating leases to Just Udo Aviation Private Limited (FLY91).

The first aircraft, MSN 1233, was delivered in late December 2025 and is already in service with the Indian regional carrier. The second aircraft, MSN 1236, was delivered in mid-January 2026 and is expected to enter service shortly.

One aircraft will be based in Goa, the headquarters of the regional airline, while the second is expected to operate from Hyderabad. The aircraft will support FLY91’s strategy of connecting underserved Tier 2 and Tier 3 city pairs across India.

FLY91 stated that the partnership provides fleet flexibility aligned with demand and long-term regional growth plans. The ATR 72-600 aircraft supports reliable and efficient operations across the airline’s expanding network.

TrueNoord highlighted FLY91’s customer-focused operating model, disciplined execution and clear regional connectivity strategy as key factors supporting the partnership. The delivery of the aircraft represents the airline’s third and fourth aircraft as it works towards a planned fleet of 30 aircraft by 2029.

The transaction included a sale and leaseback of MSN 1233 with FLY91. MSN 1236 was acquired from Danish Air Transport (DAT) for a back-to-back lease to the Indian airline. The companies acknowledged the role of DAT’s legal and transaction teams in supporting the aircraft transfer and delivery process.

TrueNoord noted that India’s regional aviation sector continues to expand, supported by strong demand growth in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets and government initiatives such as UDAN. The programme continues to support regional connectivity by improving the commercial viability of operations to smaller airports.

TrueNoord added that airlines are increasingly seeking aircraft capable of operating from smaller airfields while delivering low trip-cost economics, aligning with the ATR 72-600’s operational profile.
