Vienna Airport, a key hub in central Europe, continues to enhance its network, offering increased international accessibility for both business and leisure travellers. The 2024 summer schedule features flights from 60 airlines to 190 destinations in 67 countries, with a focus on expanding connections within Europe and the Mediterranean.

Austrian Airlines, the airport’s home carrier, is driving growth, including flights to unserved and underserved routes such as Bremen Airport (BRE) in Germany. Ryanair is also contributing to the airport’s extensive network, operating flights to 79 destinations, including new routes to Rijeka, Olbia, Tirana, and Split. The airline expects to carry seven million passengers in Austria this summer.

Eurowings has introduced Berlin as a new destination and increased services to major German cities. Meanwhile, Wizz Air now serves 28 destinations from Vienna, with extended routes to the Middle East and additional services to European cities like Barcelona and Naples.

Vienna Airport is also enhancing its long-haul offerings. Austrian Airlines launched a new transatlantic service to Boston, and Chinese carriers, such as Hainan Airlines, have resumed flights to Vienna. Emirates, Air Canada, and Air China are increasing their capacity, while All Nippon Airways (ANA) will restart direct flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport after a pandemic-related break.

As Vienna Airport’s connectivity grows, its role as a leading European hub is reinforced, with passenger volumes nearing pre-pandemic levels and ongoing terminal expansion.
