BOMBARDIER ANNOUNCES MAJOR CHALLENGER 3500 ORDER FROM LONGTIME CUSTOMER VISTA

Bombardier has announced firm orders from Vista and its commonly controlled entities for 40 Challenger 3500 business aircraft, with purchase options for an additional 120 aircraft. The firm portion of the order is valued at US$1.18 billion based on 2026 list prices.

Bombardier states that if all purchase options are exercised, the total potential order value for up to 160 aircraft would reach approximately US$4.72 billion. The order reflects continued demand in the super-midsize business jet segment and reinforces Vista’s long-term fleet development strategy.

Bombardier says the Challenger 3500 aircraft continues the company’s development of the super-midsize category, focusing on performance, reliability and cabin comfort. The manufacturer notes the aircraft is designed to deliver a balance of advanced technology, passenger experience and operating efficiency.

Vista states the agreement supports its long-term fleet planning, focused on building capacity to support member flying requirements over the coming decade.

Aircraft performance and market position

Bombardier states the Challenger 3500 aircraft represents a key performance platform in the super-midsize segment. In 2024, the aircraft became the fastest-growing platform to reach 100 deliveries in the category.

The aircraft is designed with a dispatch reliability rate exceeding 99.8% and is positioned to deliver low direct operating costs within its segment. Bombardier states the aircraft is used across a range of operator profiles, including corporate fleets and private operators.

Cabin design and onboard technology

The Challenger 3500 incorporates design and technology elements derived from Bombardier’s Global aircraft family. Cabin features include the Nuage seat, developed by Bombardier for long-duration passenger comfort.

The aircraft also incorporates technology features including voice-control capability, 4K cabin entertainment systems, wireless charging and a bring-your-own-device cabin architecture.

Company and industry position

Bombardier states it designs, builds, modifies and maintains business aircraft serving corporate, government and private customers. Bombardier customers operate more than 5,200 aircraft globally, supported by a network including 10 service facilities across six countries.

Bombardier aircraft are manufactured across aerostructure, assembly and completion facilities in Canada, the United States and Mexico. In 2024, Bombardier received the Red Dot: Best of the Best award for Brands and Communication Design.

Vista is a global business aviation company headquartered in Dubai, providing business flight services through a network of subsidiaries. The company states it provides asset-light aviation services including global flight coverage, membership and subscription models, and aircraft management services through brands including VistaJet and XO.
