BLITZ AVIATION JOINS PIPER FLIGHT SCHOOL ALLIANCE WITH TRAINING FLEET ORDER

New Pilot 100i aircraft to support structured pilot training growth

Blitz Aviation has joined the Piper Flight School Alliance as its newest member, alongside placing an initial order for three Piper Pilot 100i aircraft.

FLEET EXPANSION TO SUPPORT TRAINING DEMAND

Based in Ogden, Utah, Blitz Aviation has confirmed that deliveries of the three aircraft are expected in late 2026, with plans to expand its fleet further as training demand grows.

The move reflects continued investment in structured pilot training capacity, with aircraft selection aligned to operational efficiency, reliability, and standardised instruction.

ALLIANCE MODEL SUPPORTS OPERATORS

Membership in the Piper Flight School Alliance provides participating schools with access to manufacturer-backed support, including parts availability, technical assistance, and coordinated marketing initiatives.

For Blitz Aviation, the alliance structure formed part of the decision to transition toward a Piper-based training fleet, supporting longer-term operational consistency and scalability.

AIRCRAFT DESIGNED FOR TRAINING ENVIRONMENT

The Pilot 100i is specifically configured for flight training operations, based on the PA-28-181 platform and equipped with a Garmin G3X integrated flight deck.

Powered by a Lycoming IO-360 engine, the aircraft offers a maximum cruise speed of approximately 128 knots (237 km/h) and a range of 522 nautical miles with reserves, positioning it as a cost-effective platform for ab initio and advanced training environments.

INDUSTRY CONTEXT: TRAINING PIPELINE DEVELOPMENT

Fleet modernisation within flight schools continues to play a key role in addressing pilot supply constraints, with manufacturers increasingly aligning products and support systems to training-specific requirements.

Programmes such as the Piper Flight School Alliance illustrate a broader trend toward integrated training ecosystems, combining aircraft, support infrastructure, and operational guidance to improve training throughput and consistency.
