Embraer has signed its first forged raw materials supply agreement with India’s Bharat Forge as part of its strategy to diversify and strengthen its global aerospace supply chain.
Embraer has signed its first forged raw materials supply agreement with Indian manufacturer Bharat Forge Limited, marking a significant step in the Brazilian airframer’s strategy to expand and diversify its global supplier network.
Announced in New Delhi on 11 May 2026, the agreement will see Bharat Forge supply forged raw materials to support Embraer’s aerospace programmes. The contract also reflects Embraer’s broader commitment to strengthening industrial partnerships within India’s growing aerospace sector.
The agreement represents Embraer’s first forged raw material supply contract with an Indian supplier and forms part of the company’s efforts to build a more resilient and competitive global supply chain.
Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer, said India presents significant long-term opportunities for the company.
“In line with our supply chain diversification strategy, we view India as a major opportunity. This contract reinforces our plans to create a more resilient and competitive supply chain, as well as our commitment to developing the Indian aerospace industry,” said Chaves.
Bharat Forge described the agreement as an important milestone for its aerospace manufacturing activities.
Amit B Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge Limited, said the contract demonstrated the company’s growing aerospace capabilities.
“The fact that BFL is the first Indian supplier of forged components for Embraer is a proud moment and a testament to the capabilities we have built in the aerospace business,” said Kalyani. “These contracts will enable us to create scale for critical structural components, complementing the scale built in the aeroengine components space.”
The agreement comes as Embraer continues expanding its presence in India and engaging with local aerospace stakeholders and government bodies. The company said the partnership would contribute to long-term value creation across the Indian aerospace supply chain.
Headquartered in Brazil, Embraer operates across commercial aviation, executive aviation, defence and security, and agricultural aviation sectors. Since its establishment in 1969, the company has delivered more than 9,000 aircraft worldwide.
Pune-based Bharat Forge maintains manufacturing operations across five countries and supplies safety-critical engineered components to sectors including aerospace, defence, automotive, marine, rail and energy.
