PLATOON AVIATION TO EXPAND CESSNA CITATION LONGITUDE FLEET

Textron Aviation has signed a multi-aircraft agreement with Platoon Aviation, supporting plans to create Europe’s largest Cessna Citation Longitude fleet.

Hamburg-based operator plans growth in European charter market

Textron Aviation has announced a multi-aircraft purchase agreement with Hamburg-based Platoon Aviation that is expected to position the operator as the largest Cessna Citation Longitude fleet owner in Europe.

Platoon Aviation provides on-demand private jet charter services for business and leisure travellers. Deliveries of the Citation Longitude aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2027.

Focus on long-range charter operations

Lannie O’Bannion, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Textron Aviation, said the agreement reflects continued demand for the Citation Longitude within the super-midsize business jet segment.

Textron stated that the aircraft is designed to support both pilot and passenger requirements through advanced avionics, operating efficiency, and cabin comfort. The Citation Longitude is positioned for European charter operations with the ability to operate nonstop routes such as Hamburg to Madrid and London to Athens.

The aircraft features seating for up to 12 passengers, a flat-floor stand-up cabin measuring 1.83 metres, and what Textron describes as the quietest cabin in the super-midsize category.

Support infrastructure across Europe

Deniz Weißenborn, CEO of Platoon Aviation, said the fleet expansion forms part of the company’s long-term operational growth strategy focused on efficiency, flexibility, and passenger comfort.

Textron Aviation noted that its European support network includes five company-owned service centres, authorised service facilities, mobile support teams, and the European Parts Distribution Center to support fleet operations across the region.

Citation Longitude performance profile

According to Textron Aviation, the Citation Longitude offers a range of 6,482 km (3,500 nautical miles) and incorporates Honeywell HTF7700L turbofan engines with FADEC systems.

The aircraft also features fully berthable seats, a walk-in baggage compartment accessible during flight, and maintenance systems intended to reduce downtime and operating costs.
