BGS EXPANDS FUELING SUPPORT FOR FREEBIRD AIRLINES AHEAD OF SUMMER 2026

Baltic Ground Services has expanded its fueling partnership with Freebird Airlines, adding support at Ostrava Airport while continuing operations across key Baltic airports ahead of the Summer 2026 season.

VILNIUS, LITHUANIA – Baltic Ground Services (BGS) has expanded its cooperation with Turkish leisure carrier Freebird Airlines, extending aircraft fueling services across the Baltic region and adding support for the airline’s planned operations in the Czech Republic ahead of the Summer 2026 travel season.

Expanded agreement covers four airports

Under the renewed agreements, BGS will continue providing into-plane fueling services for Freebird Airlines at Tallinn Airport in Estonia, Kaunas Airport and Palanga Airport in Lithuania. The cooperation has also been expanded to include Ostrava Airport in the Czech Republic, where Freebird Airlines plans to commence operations during the Summer 2026 season.

The agreement supports Freebird Airlines’ seasonal charter operations and reflects continued demand for reliable ground support services as airlines prepare for the peak European summer travel period.

Supporting operational consistency

BGS said operational flexibility and consistent support across multiple stations become increasingly important during periods of high seasonal demand. The company noted that the expanded cooperation strengthens its relationship with Freebird Airlines while supporting the carrier’s regional growth plans.

Freebird Airlines highlighted the value of working with a single fueling partner across multiple destinations, helping to maintain operational consistency and support efficient charter operations throughout its network.

Freebird marks 25 years of operations

The expanded partnership coincides with Freebird Airlines’ 25th anniversary year. Since commencing operations in 2000, the airline has transported millions of passengers across Europe and to a range of popular leisure destinations. The addition of Ostrava Airport forms part of the carrier’s planned operational expansion for the Summer 2026 season.

Part of a wider aviation services network

BGS is a provider of ground handling and aircraft fueling services operating at 10 airports across five countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The company forms part of Avia Solutions Group, which provides a broad range of aviation services including ACMI operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), pilot and crew training, and ground handling support.

According to the company, Avia Solutions Group operates across six continents and employs approximately 11,000 aviation professionals worldwide.
