Diamond Aircraft has delivered a second DA62 MPP SurveyStar aircraft to Italian Remote Sensing, expanding the operator’s aerial survey capability and reflecting continued demand for fuel-efficient, multi-purpose platforms designed for specialist airborne sensing missions.
FLEET EXPANSION FOLLOWS OPERATIONAL SUCCESS
Italian operator increases aerial survey capability
Diamond Aircraft has delivered a second DA62 MPP SurveyStar to Italian Remote Sensing (IRS), further expanding the company’s operational capability following the successful entry into service of its first aircraft. The additional order was placed shortly after the initial aircraft began operations, reflecting confidence in the platform’s performance and suitability for specialised aerial survey missions.
The delivery strengthens Italian Remote Sensing’s capacity to support a growing range of aerial data acquisition and remote sensing operations across Europe.
DESIGNED FOR SPECIALISED MISSION OPERATIONS
Platform combines endurance, efficiency and operational flexibility
The DA62 MPP SurveyStar has been developed as a dedicated multi-purpose aircraft capable of supporting environmental monitoring, mapping and geospatial data acquisition missions. The platform combines extended endurance with comparatively low operating costs, while its twin Austro Engine AE330 diesel engines provide improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions than many conventional survey aircraft.
As operators across Europe increasingly seek cost-effective and environmentally efficient airborne survey solutions, demand continues to grow for platforms capable of delivering high-precision data collection while reducing operational and environmental costs.
INCREASED CAPACITY FOR GROWING MARKET DEMAND
Additional aircraft enhances operational flexibility
According to Diamond Aircraft, the additional DA62 MPP SurveyStar will provide Italian Remote Sensing with increased operational flexibility and greater capacity to support expanding customer requirements. The aircraft’s spacious cabin configuration allows for the integration of a wide range of sensor payloads, enabling operators to adapt the platform for various surveying, mapping and remote sensing applications.
The latest delivery further expands the presence of the DA62 MPP SurveyStar within Europe’s specialist aerial survey sector, where operators continue to prioritise platforms that combine mission capability with lower lifecycle operating costs.
