AVIATOR ADVANCES TOWARD CARBON NEUTRALITY WITH ELECTRIFIED GSE FLEET

Aviator Airport Alliance has electrified 62% of its Nordic ground support equipment fleet while advancing fossil-free airport operations in Sweden as part of its carbon neutrality strategy.

Aviator Airport Alliance has reached 62% electrification of its ground support equipment (GSE) fleet across the Nordic region, marking another milestone in the company’s long-term strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

The aviation services provider, which forms part of Avia Solutions Group, confirmed the progress in its 2025 ESG Report, highlighting significant operational changes across Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

A major development took place in Sweden, where Aviator’s operations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT), and Malmö Airport (MMX) transitioned to fossil-free operations from 1 December 2025. The stations are now operating using 100% renewable electricity together with renewable HVO100 fuel.

In Copenhagen Airport (CPH), the shift to fully renewable electricity has reduced on-site operational emissions by approximately 60%, while Helsinki Airport (HEL) completed its transition to renewable electricity during the fourth quarter of 2025.

Aviator has also expanded its use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), offsetting around 50% of emissions linked to Sweden-based business travel activities as part of its broader sustainability programme.

Beyond environmental initiatives, the company continued investing in workforce development and operational resilience throughout 2025. Aviator employed more than 3,500 staff members across 15 stations in four countries, with ongoing investment in training, leadership development and digital operational tools.

According to the report, women represented 26% of the workforce, while 45% of employees were under the age of 30, reflecting a continued emphasis on workforce diversity and long-term sustainability planning.

Operational safety also remained a central focus, supported by more than 11,000 inspections and a compliance rate exceeding 98%.

“As we move into 2026, our priorities are unwavering,” said Jo Alex Tanem, CEO of Aviator Airport Alliance.

“We are focused on safety in every process, the empowerment of our local teams, and achieving measurable progress toward carbon neutrality by 2030. Our ambition remains to make travel safe and easy with a diminishing impact on the planet.”

Aviator said its ESG strategy integrates environmental, social and governance priorities into long-term operational planning, with a roadmap aimed at reducing emissions while strengthening operational resilience across the Nordic aviation sector.
