Berjaya Air has taken delivery of the world’s first ATR 72-600 featuring ATR’s new HighLine all-business class cabin configuration.
ATR 72-600 INTRODUCES PREMIUM REGIONAL CONFIGURATION FOR ASIA-PACIFIC OPERATIONS
Berjaya Air has taken delivery of what is described as the world’s first ATR 72-600 configured with ATR’s new HighLine all-business class cabin concept.
The aircraft arrived in Kuala Lumpur following certification of the ATR HighLine cabin configuration by both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Malaysian authorities earlier this month.
According to the announcement, the delivery represents both Berjaya Air’s first ATR 72-600 aircraft and the launch platform for ATR’s premium HighLine cabin collection.
ALL-BUSINESS CLASS CONFIGURATION
The aircraft features a bespoke 26-seat all-business class cabin arranged in a 1-by-1 layout, providing direct aisle access for all passengers.
ATR stated that the aircraft incorporates handcrafted ETEREA seats produced by Geven, alongside redesigned cabin architecture intended to create a more spacious interior environment.
One of the key design features includes the removal of traditional overhead bins in favour of valence panels, intended to increase cabin openness and natural light within the aircraft interior.
REGIONAL NETWORK DEPLOYMENT
Berjaya Air plans to place the aircraft into service within days, initially operating a new route between Subang and Koh Samui.
The airline said the aircraft will subsequently support services across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, with a focus on routes linked to Berjaya Group hospitality destinations including Langkawi and Redang.
The aircraft will also be available for charter operations within the Asia-Pacific region.
ATR EXPANDS PREMIUM CABIN OFFERING
ATR said the HighLine cabin concept is intended to expand the operational versatility of the ATR platform while maintaining the aircraft’s established fuel-efficiency and regional performance characteristics.
Berjaya Air is expected to receive a second ATR 72-600 in the same configuration during the third quarter of this year.
