Blackhawk has completed validation testing enabling compatibility between its XP67A Engine+ Upgrade and Collins Aerospace’s Pro Line Fusion Phase 4++ / Version 3.7 avionics software for Beechcraft King Air 350 and 360 aircraft.
UPGRADE COMPATIBILITY CONFIRMED
The validation work was conducted at Blackhawk’s Performance Center in Columbia, Missouri, in collaboration with Collins Aerospace. The facility is authorised to perform Pro Line Fusion software upgrades on Fusion-equipped King Air aircraft.
Â
According to Blackhawk, the validation confirms that aircraft fitted with the XP67A engine upgrade can operate with the latest Pro Line Fusion software configuration.
Â
ENGINE UPGRADE PERFORMANCE PARAMETERS
The XP67A Engine+ Upgrade incorporates Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67A engines. Blackhawk states that the upgrade provides increased horsepower at higher altitudes and enables improved climb and cruise performance compared to baseline King Air 350 configurations.
Â
The company indicates that typical cruise speeds of up to 332 KTAS can be achieved, with operational benefits including improved fuel efficiency and extended engine durability.
Â
AVIONICS ENHANCEMENTS
The Pro Line Fusion Phase 4++ / Version 3.7 software introduces several avionics capabilities, including Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC), Integrated Terrain Awareness Warning System (iTAWS), touchscreen flight deck controls, Synthetic Vision System (SVS) and Privacy ICAO Address (PIA) functionality.
Â
These features are designed to support communication, situational awareness and operational management within the cockpit environment.
Â
FLEET APPLICABILITY
Blackhawk stated that the upgrade applies to all Pro Line Fusion-equipped King Air 350i and 360 aircraft, including more than 300 recently delivered units. The company continues to support certification and upgrade programmes for the global King Air fleet.
