Manufacturing Milestones and Assembly Progress

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (De Havilland Canada) has confirmed that production is progressing on the first De Havilland Canadair 515 (DHC-515) aircraft within its Canadian manufacturing facilities. Recent milestones include the joining of the cockpit and the hull at the Calgary aerostructure assembly line to form the forward fuselage. In addition, the manufacturer has completed the assembly of the inaugural DHC-515 wing box, a structure measuring 28.6 metres.

 

International and Domestic Orders

The DHC-515 is designed as a purpose-built amphibious firefighting aircraft, supporting strong domestic and international demand. De Havilland Canada is currently producing 22 aircraft for European nations, with the customer list including France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Croatia. On the domestic front, the company has formalised contracts with the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario.
