In a groundbreaking move poised to revolutionise regional travel in the Middle East and Africa, Dubai-based company Aviterra has placed an order for over 100 PAL-V Liberty flying vehicles from PAL-V, the Netherlands-headquartered pioneer in personal air and land vehicles.
Aviterra, renowned for its expertise in aviation and aerospace component manufacturing, envisions bringing the concept of flying cars to fruition in the region through this strategic partnership. Managing Director of Aviterra, Mouhanad Wadaa, expressed enthusiasm for the venture, stating, “The PAL-V is the perfect tool for our customers’ regional travel requirements, offering a combination of flying and driving. It’s truly an innovation that will change mobility as we know it.”
The PAL-V Liberty, hailed as the world’s first ‘real flying car,’ seamlessly integrates the functionalities of a gyroplane and a car. Featuring small, fixed wings and a rear propeller for forward propulsion, the vehicle’s innovative design allows for effortless transition between ground and air travel. When in drive mode, the two-person vehicle can achieve speeds of up to 100mph and boasts a land range of 800 miles. As an aircraft, it offers a flight range of 400 – 500km, a maximum speed of approximately 111mph, and can ascend to an altitude of 11,000 feet.
PAL-V emphasises the convenience of its Liberty model, highlighting that it takes just five minutes to transform the vehicle from land to air mode. Moreover, the aircraft requires a minimum airstrip or airfield length of 200m for takeoff and landing, ensuring accessibility within existing infrastructure.
Mouhanad Wadaa elaborated on Aviterra’s strategic decision, stating, “PAL-V’s long-standing presence and adherence to existing regulations allow our customers to safely FlyDrive using existing air and road infrastructure. Furthermore, PAL-V is the only player that combines flying and driving into one vehicle. No other player in the market offers this combination and can realistically deliver the vehicles in the near future.”
In addition to the substantial order of PAL-V Liberty vehicles, Aviterra’s investment arm, Loggia Investment, has forged a ‘strategic’ partnership with PAL-V, solidifying their commitment to advancing the future of mobility in the Middle East and Africa.
Robert Dingemanse, CEO and Founder of PAL-V, expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating, “Aviterra and Mr. Wadaa have vast experience in aviation, understand our certification process, and have an excellent reputation in the business aviation industry. They are a strong partner to support our sales and marketing activities in the Middle East and Africa.”
As Aviterra and PAL-V join forces, the future of regional travel in the Middle East and Africa is poised for a paradigm shift, with the PAL-V Liberty leading the charge towards a new era of seamless and efficient transportation.
