FIRST AIRCRAFT ENTERS TRAINING FLEET

European Flyers has taken delivery of its first Tecnam P2010 TDI, beginning a progressive 12-aircraft fleet renewal programme.

The aircraft will be introduced into the organisation’s pilot training operations with a four-seat configuration, integrated autopilot and Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpit. The stated objective is to expose students to modern cockpit technology aligned more closely with the environment they may encounter in professional airline operations.

JET A1 POWERPLANT

The P2010 TDI is powered by a Continental CD-170 engine using Jet A1 fuel. According to the supplied material, the aircraft is expected to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions compared with the academy’s existing training arrangements.

The agreement also includes specialised technical training for European Flyers’ maintenance teams to support the integration, reliability and operation of the incoming fleet.

FLEET RENEWAL PROGRAMME

Luis Miñano, Director General of European Flyers, said the acquisition forms part of the organisation’s continuing effort to improve training quality.

Tecnam’s authorised dealer in Spain, Alvaro La Petra, facilitated the delivery. Walter da Costa, Tecnam Chief Sales Officer, said the 12-aircraft order strengthens the manufacturer’s position in the Spanish flight training market.

European Flyers was founded in 1991 and, following its merger with Aerotec in 2025, operates training bases at Cuatro Vientos in Madrid, Mutxamel in Alicante, Casarrubios in Toledo and Seville. It provides aeroplane, helicopter and drone pilot training and holds EASA Approved Training Organisation status.
