LEONARDO HAS APPOINTED STEFANO VILLANTI AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ITS HELICOPTERS DIVISION, EFFECTIVE 1 SEPTEMBER 2026.
LEADERSHIP CHANGE AT LEONARDO HELICOPTERS
Leonardo has appointed Stefano Villanti as Managing Director of Leonardo Helicopters, effective 1 September 2026.
Villanti has spent the past ten years in senior leadership positions within Leonardo’s rotorcraft business. For the past three years, he has led Sales, Marketing and Contracts for Leonardo Helicopters.
FOCUS ON DELIVERY AND INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY
In his new role, Villanti will be responsible for maintaining the division’s focus on customer commitments, advancing its industrial strategy and pursuing its growth objectives.
Lorenzo Mariani, CEO and General Manager of Leonardo, said rotorcraft technology continues to play an important role across defence, public service and civil markets. He said Leonardo intends to strengthen the business while drawing on synergies across the wider organisation to respond to changing operational requirements and technology trends.
CONTINUITY AND EXECUTION
Villanti said the rotorcraft sector, alongside the wider aerospace, defence and security industry, is operating through a period of significant change.
He said the division would balance continuity in execution and performance with assessment of longer-term priorities, while placing customers, innovation, quality and faster execution at the centre of its work.
