EXPANDING BRAZILIAN CONNECTIVITY

TAAG Angola Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with LATAM Brasil for passenger transport services, integrating the two airlines’ destination networks and strengthening connectivity between Angola and Brazil.

Under the agreement, TAAG passengers will gain access to LATAM Brasil’s domestic network through São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). The arrangement is intended to provide greater flexibility for combined itineraries and connections between flights operated by the two airlines.

TAAG said the codeshare will also support international ticket purchases in local currency and provide protection on connecting itineraries, including streamlined check-in, baggage handling and passenger assistance while in transit.

A BROADER DOMESTIC NETWORK

The agreement gives TAAG customers access to 57 destinations in Brazil through São Paulo. These include Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Vitória and a wide range of regional destinations.

LATAM Brasil forms part of LATAM Airlines Group, which operates domestic and international services across Latin America, North America, Europe, Oceania and Africa. According to the supplied material, the group operates more than 350 aircraft, including Airbus aircraft on domestic and regional services and Boeing aircraft on long-haul routes.

LUANDA HUB ROLE

TAAG said the agreement supports the positioning of Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) as a connecting platform between Africa and South America.

The partnership may later be expanded to include LATAM international routes across South America and North America, which would further extend the geographical reach of TAAG’s commercial network.
