GARMIN PILOT WEB ADDS ENHANCED ROUTE PLANNING AND VISUAL EDITING TOOLS

Garmin introduces new route planning tools and graphical editing features to Garmin Pilot Web , improving flight route comparison, filtering and map-based planning capabilities.

Garmin has introduced a new routes interface and expanded routing functionality to Garmin Pilot Web, aimed at simplifying route comparison and flight planning from desktop environments.

The update introduces enhanced routing tools designed to allow users to compare, sort and plan flight routes more efficiently. The platform now enables pilots and planners to select optimal routing while maintaining flexibility through a map-based “rubber band” route adjustment feature.

The update includes graphical editing capability, allowing users to drag and adjust route lines directly on the map interface. The system supports selection of nearby airports, waypoints, or precise latitude and longitude coordinates during route construction.

The Routes page, located under the Flights section, has also been updated. Users can now sort route options by altitude, distance, time, fuel usage, or route usage. The interface allows users to hover over routing options to highlight them on an integrated map, supporting easier visual comparison.

Additional filtering capability allows routes to be sorted based on altitude. The system also displays routing limitations, including restrictions based on aircraft type, speed profiles, or landing direction requirements.

The update also introduces TEC (Tower En Route Control) routes within Garmin Pilot Web. These routes are now accessible via the Routes page, providing additional structured routing options for applicable operations.

Garmin states that these updates are intended to streamline flight planning workflows and improve route selection visibility for users operating across different flight environments.
