SITA launches a managed campus network solution enabling airports and airlines to outsource connectivity infrastructure, improving reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
New service shifts connectivity management away from airports and airlines
Air transport IT provider SITA has launched a fully managed connectivity solution aimed at reducing the operational burden on airports and airlines by outsourcing network infrastructure management.
MANAGED CONNECTIVITY MODEL
The SITA Campus Network, developed in partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise through its Aruba networking division, is designed to deliver integrated wired and wireless connectivity across complex airport environments.
The system enables airports and airlines to operate critical infrastructure without directly managing network systems, replacing fragmented, multi-vendor setups with a centrally controlled platform.
Built on cloud-based architecture, the network provides consistent performance across airport campuses, including terminals, hangars, and operational control centres.
AI-ENABLED NETWORK OPERATIONS
The platform incorporates artificial intelligence to monitor network performance, detect faults, and automate troubleshooting processes. This approach is intended to reduce downtime and improve system reliability in environments where connectivity disruptions can directly impact operational continuity.
Centralised management allows infrastructure and connected devices to be monitored across both on-site and remote environments, supporting more coordinated control of airport systems.
SUPPORTING COMPLEX AIRPORT ENVIRONMENTS
Airport and airline operations rely on large volumes of connected devices and systems, ranging from passenger processing to airside operations. The solution is designed to support high-density usage without performance degradation, including during peak operational periods.
By shifting network management to a service model, the system reduces the need for on-site technical resources, spare equipment, and continuous staff training.
GLOBAL DEPLOYMENT AND SCALABILITY
The service is available in more than 145 countries, supported by continuous operational monitoring. It integrates with SITA’s wider global network infrastructure, which connects hundreds of airports worldwide, providing an end-to-end connectivity framework from local operations to international systems.
A flexible pricing structure allows operators to scale usage based on operational demand, supporting both large hub airports and smaller regional facilities.
