Aviator Airport Alliance has reported a reduction of approximately 50% in emissions from its business travel in Sweden during 2025, following participation in Swedavia’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) procurement initiative.
SAF PROCUREMENT INITIATIVE
Aviator Sweden joined the SAF initiative through a recently completed auction led by Swedavia. According to the company, the investment in SAF forms part of its broader climate strategy to reduce emissions associated with business travel.
The company stated that SAF enables emissions reductions at the source, rather than relying solely on offset mechanisms.
Operational Context and Emissions Reduction
Sustainable Aviation Fuel can reduce lifecycle CO₂e emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel, according to the company. SAF can be used within existing aircraft and infrastructure without requiring modifications.
The reported reduction relates specifically to business travel emissions for Aviator Sweden during 2025.
Fossil-Free Ground Operations
Aviator also confirmed that its ground handling operations in Sweden have been fully fossil-free since 1 December 2025.
The SAF investment extends emissions reduction efforts beyond direct ground operations and aligns with the company’s stated objective of achieving carbon-neutral ground handling by 2030.
Company Footprint
Aviator Airport Alliance operates across 15 airports in the Nordic region, providing services including passenger and baggage handling, de-icing, cargo and freight handling, and airport security.
