Honeywell has expanded its OT Cybersecurity Suite with new AI-powered monitoring, compliance and infrastructure protection capabilities for industrial and critical infrastructure environments.
HOUSTON, USA – Honeywell has announced an expansion of its Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Suite, introducing a range of new capabilities aimed at helping industrial organisations strengthen resilience against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The enhanced portfolio is designed to protect critical infrastructure, support compliance requirements and improve visibility across industrial operations.
Addressing growing cybersecurity challenges
According to Honeywell, cyber-attacks targeting operational technology environments continue to increase in both frequency and complexity. The company cited findings from the World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Outlook indicating that only 32% of organisations operating industrial environments actively monitor OT systems, while just 20% maintain dedicated OT security teams.
Honeywell said the expanded suite is intended to help organisations move beyond reactive cybersecurity approaches and adopt more proactive strategies to manage operational risk.
Five new cybersecurity capabilities introduced
The updated portfolio includes five new technologies designed to strengthen protection across industrial environments.
Secure Media Exchange Portable Scanner
The Secure Media Exchange (SMX) Portable Scanner is designed to protect industrial facilities from threats introduced through USB devices and other removable media. The system uses anti-virus technology and threat intelligence tools to inspect storage devices, Windows-based machines and air-gapped systems before malware can enter critical networks.
Cyber Proactive Defense
Cyber Proactive Defense (CPD) is an AI-powered monitoring platform developed specifically for OT environments. The solution uses advanced analytics and real-time monitoring to correlate alerts across automation and process systems, helping organisations identify and respond to potential threats before they affect operations.
Cyber Governance Risk and Compliance
The Cyber Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform automates evidence collection and audit reporting through artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. Honeywell said the software is intended to reduce the administrative burden associated with compliance management while providing greater visibility into an organisation’s security posture.
Data Diode
Honeywell’s Data Diode technology enables secure, one-way data transfer between systems. The solution is designed to help isolate critical infrastructure and protect sensitive operational environments from unauthorised access.
OT Security Operations Center
The OT Security Operations Center (SOC) provides managed network and endpoint monitoring services supported by continuous 24-hour monitoring. Honeywell said the service is intended to improve incident response capabilities, minimise downtime and support operational continuity across industrial environments.
Designed for critical industries
Honeywell stated that the expanded cybersecurity portfolio is available immediately and can be deployed across sectors including manufacturing, energy and critical infrastructure. The company said the integrated suite is intended to provide a unified approach to cybersecurity management in operational technology environments.
